Attributes Only
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Use this mode if you want to completely ignore the actual content of the files, and instead compare them by attributes such as file name, size or date.
This mode has no settings of its own. Choose your criteria in More duplicate options - you need to select at least one. For example:
- Same file name - Find files with the same name, wherever they are.
- Same file name + Same file size - A quick check for probable copies, without reading the files.
- Similar file name - Find files whose names are nearly the same, such as different versions of a document.
- File name match using mask - Find files that share part of their name, such as the number in a camera’s file names.
As the files’ content is not read, this is a very fast mode. Bear in mind, though, that files
matched this way are not necessarily duplicates - two files called notes.txt may contain quite
different things. Check before you remove anything!
