Hash tool

The Hash tool is a standalone tool for calculating file hashes - for example to check that a download or a copy is intact.

To add files, click Add files or Add folder, or drag files and folders from File Explorer (Finder on macOS) and drop them on the tool. You can also send files from the results list with Send to Hash tool on the right-click menu (Ctrl+H). If a folder holds a lot of files you will be asked to confirm before they are all hashed (Hash all).

Choose which hash types to calculate with the Settings button: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, BLAKE2b-256, BLAKE2b-512, CRC32, xxHash64, xxHash3 and xxHash128.

Paste a known hash (for example one published with a download) into the Verify hash box. It is checked against the results, and the tool tells you whether a matching file was found.

  • Copy all / Copy selected - Copy the hashes to the clipboard.
  • Export - Save the list as a CSV or TSV file.
  • Clear list - Empty the list.
